Help Our Pathway Centre Students Experience Their First Ever Residential at Scout Park!
The students from the Pathway Centre at Barnet & Southgate College are fundraising for their first overnight residential trip to Scout Park—and they couldn’t be more excited! All of our learners have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and, despite their many achievements at college, none of them has ever had the chance to stay away overnight. This trip would change that!
A residential will open up a world of new experiences in a safe, supportive setting. Over two action packed days, students will explore a new environment and take part in confidence building outdoor activities such as archery and supervised shooting, fire lighting, and a range of team building challenges. For our young people, this isn’t just a trip—it’s a meaningful step towards adulthood, independence, and social development.
Why it matters
• Independence & life skills: Packing, planning, sharing space, and making decisions away from home help learners practise real world skills that link directly to their independence targets.
• Social confidence: Working in teams, trying new activities, and celebrating success together strengthen communication, friendships, and resilience.
• Wellbeing & self belief: Outdoor adventure builds confidence, problem solving, and a sense of achievement—memories they’ll carry for life.
• Inclusion & access: Your support ensures our students—with diverse needs and strengths—can access the same milestone experiences as their peers.
How your donation helps
Your generosity will go towards accommodation, instructor led activities, transport, accessible equipment, and the specialist staffing needed to make the residential inclusive and safe for everyone. Every pound takes us a step closer to giving our learners a milestone they’ll never forget.
Please donate and share this page widely. Together, we can give our Pathway Centre students the chance to try something new, grow in confidence, and shine—for the very first time on an overnight trip.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support !
