IN LOVING MEMORY of Emily Jackson

On Thursday, March 25th, our entire world was turned upside down. What began as a normal school day turned into every parents biggest nightmare. We awoke that morning to find that our 19 year old special needs daughter Emily had unexpectedly passed in her sleep. We were (are) devastated and completely unprepared.

Emily was a special in many ways. She was diagnosed with epilepsy at just 3 months of age. She also had severe developmental delays, was legally blind, had bilateral severe to profound hearing loss, she was non-verbal and pretty much 100% dependant on personal care/hygiene and could not walk. Although she had all of these obstacles and challenges in her life, she still managed to always have a smile on her face and put one on everyone else's too. Emily had the best disposition of any 100% able bodied person i know. She managed to melt your heart with her smile and her laugh was infectious. Emily had a way of touching everyone who met her and she/we were blessed to have so many wonderful and caring people in our lives. We are forever grateful.

It is with their urging that we have finally decided to reach out and ask for help. Due to Covid, our time lines for getting guardianship completed for Emily was delayed for almost a year. We had just completed that process a couple of months ago and had not been able to get the insurance or SSI disability completed before the time of this horrific tragedy. Any help to cover her final medical and funeral expenses would be gratefully appreciated. Denny and Robin.
