The Pasadena SDA Church Pathfinder Club is Florida-bound!

Our Pathfinder Club Bible Bowl Team is participating in the Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE), hosted by the North American Division (NAD) of Seventh-day Adventists. This year's focus is the Book of John, and so our team has been immersed in this amazing Gospel for the past three months. So far, we have placed FIRST at all levels: Semi-regional, Conference and Union. And now, by God's grace, we are advancing to the finals at the Division Level, which will take place at the Florida State Grounds in Tampa, FL, April 21-22, 2023.

But to get to Florida, we need YOUR HELP! Please consider donating today!
Donations are tax-deductible through the Pasadena SDA Church. Please provide name and contact information if you want a tax receipt.

Here are some photos of our journey from Semi-regionals up through the Union Level:

And here's the moment when we heard we placed FIRST at the Union Level, qualifying us to advance to Florida:

And here are some words from our team members about what this experience means to them:

Joining the PBE has been fun. I enjoyed meeting with the team to study God's word on weekdays and on Sabbath. Through this experience I have gained knowledge of the Gospel of John.
~ Daniel Ruiz, 14, Team Captain (favorite verse: John 13:16)

I am the scribe in the Pasadena Pathfinders PBE Team. The scribe is the person who types down the team’s answer. PBE was definitely a big experience for me. Here is one of my favorite verses in John:

“Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord" (John 21:12).

I like this verse because it tells of how Jesus cooked breakfast for the disciples. It really shows how nice Jesus is. PBE has helped me know more about the bible. I think it was a good idea because it motivates Pathfinders to study God’s word. I had so much fun in PBE. When we heard that we won 1st place in Union level, We were so happy because that meant we were going to Florida. Here is a picture of my reaction:

~ Caleb Chan, 11, Team Scribe (favorite verse: John 21:12)

The PBE has been an amazing experience for me. I've learned so many new things about Jesus I would have never known before. I feel that my team and I have been growing closer to God. I've also memorized many verses that are filled with hope, joy and wisdom that will stick with me for the rest of my life. One of my favorite verses in John is John 10:11, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." I like it because it reminds me of God's great love for us. The PBE is also really enjoyable because I get to work together with my team and we have a lot of fun together.
~ Grace Chan, 13 (favorite verse: John 10:11)

PBE has been an amazing experience, and we get to be with other Pathfinders. It also helps our team learn how to work better together and learn the importance and value of teamwork. It also helps me learn more about Jesus and how he helped everyone in the book of John. We've gotten so far and I think making it to Florida has inspired everyone to learn and memorize as much as possible. It also has brought me in my friendships closer together. Overall, PBE has been great and I would definitely want to do this again.
~ Syaan McGarity, 13 (favorite verse John 8:12)

It means a lot to be able to study the Bible with a group of other kids around the same age who are also interested in learning more about God and reading the Bible. It also means that not only can I spread the word of God but also spread the word of God with close friends. I also think that PBE is a great way to bring many young people together and have them study things that they will likely keep for the rest of their lives.
~ Mariano Balcazar, 12 (favorite verse John 15:13)

What PBE means to me is understanding the book of John. And of course, I am always thinking of winning the whole thing. I hope to win and have fun in Florida.
~ Mark Fuentes, 13 (favorite verse John 14:6)

PBE to me is like learning the Bible but with challenges you have to face, and since I'm new to the Bible this is a fun and challenging experience for me.
~ Lianne Vasallo, 13 (favorite verse John 10:11)
