The pet industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, yet Black Owned Pet Businesses are not equally represented or supported. However, due to the recent events overwhelming this nation, my company, Harlem Doggie Day Spa has received an outpouring of love and donations from clients and people all over the country wanting to support a black-owned business. With these donations I decided to create a Pandemic Pup Relief Fund, offering free grooming services to pet parents who have been fiscally impacted during this time. So far we received $2,000 and have been able to help many NYC pups!
For the past 5 years I’ve had one particular dream, to road trip across the USA using my mobile grooming van and offering grooming services to those in need. I believe that right now is the perfect time to follow this dream! By expanding the Pandemic Pup Relief Fund, my goal is to embark on a 6-city Pandemic Pup Relief Tour, helping pups across the nation.
The Pandemic Pup Relief Tour will partner with a local Black Pet Grooming Salon, local Pet Groomers and local shelters in each city to build a team. Our team will service pups from the community whose parents have been impacted by the pandemic. Additionally, we will service pups from the shelters thereby increasing their chances of being adopted.
The tour will launch on July 27, 2020 in NYC and end on August 11, 2020 in LA, stopping in DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Dallas along the way. Our pop up will service each city for 2 days. During this time, we hope to recruit a team of 4 -7 local dog groomers. Our goal is to offer free services to about 100 dogs per city, setting up shop at the salon, at the shelters and in the mobile grooming van. Along with grooming and spa services for the pups, it is important to us that we use this opportunity to educate parents on the proper upkeep of their fur-babies.
We hope to raise these funds by July 7, 2020. We have estimated that this tour will cost about $83K.

How you can help?
I created this tour for my love of dogs and the joy they bring to their humans. Our pups are a source of happiness, loyalty, companionship, protection and love. They are our family and we have to treat them as such. During these difficult times, they can sense our despair. I’m hoping that this tour will offer a bit of happiness to pups and their parents experiencing hardships all over our country. I also hope that this tour will help connect Americans of all backgrounds through their love of pups.
Your monetary donation to this tour will be beyond appreciated. If you cannot support monetarily, local donations of supplies and equipment would help us tremendously. Additionally, sharing this GoFundMe link with your networks is crucial. Lastly connecting and interacting with us on our social media pages would bring us much joy!
I and my team, and the puppies of across America thank you wholeheartedly for your support, consideration and dedication to this cause.
