The Palacio Family

Our next door neighbors, Jennifer and Jeff Palacio  were both diagnosed with cancer back in August - Jeff with malignant stomach cancer and Jennifer with breast cancer.  Jennifer underwent a double mastectomy in August.  She required no chemo or radiation.  Jeff had multiple surgeries while at CMC to try and help with the tumors and to enable him to eat solid food. Once they got that under control, they were going to try chemo and radiation to slow the cancer down. They were unable to start treating the cancer due to the countless intestinal/stomach complications. Meanwhile the cancer continued spreading to his other organs. CMC eventually moved him to the hospice house in Rock Hill. Jeff passed away  on 11/9/18.  Jeff and Jennifer have two children - one is a senior in high school and the other is a freshman in college. They will be flying back to New Orleans, Jeff’s hometown, for the funeral. Many of you have asked how you can help. I spoke with Jennifer and the airfare for her and the two children will be approx $700. Of course they will need money for food and incidentals as well. I would like to rally as a community to try and raise the money for them to travel back home for his burial. Anything you can donate will be appreciated.
