The Pageant Play - Righton Productions - 11th-15th Nov
Please help us raise funds for this premiere fringe production of an exciting new play from a group of up and coming artists.
THE PAGEANT PLAY has just been longlisted for the inaugural Victoria Wood Comedy Prize and has had readings in both London and Philadelphia, aswell as onboard Cunard Cruise Lines. The plot of the play is as follows… The honourable Women of Righton society in 1974 go about the troubles, hilarities and dramas of their lives as they also with the society attempt to stage a special theatrical celebration in honour of a local widow. The society is run by (with not exactly wholly honest goals) Helen Murphy who may or may not be going about getting this particular theatrical pageant on to stay afloat mentally.
Righton Productions is the formal beginning of a company that has unofficially been making theatre over the past five years. Thomas Carruthers, Jazmine Dorton, Rhian Holmes and Leanne Baker have performed and staged multiple pieces of theatre and a collection of short and feature films since meeting during studies at Rose Bruford College, London. Ranging in genres and tones from serious murder mysteries to the silliest of comedic farces, together they have been eagerly awaiting a chance to stage a new work for some time since work, life and the recent troubles of our time have not allowed them over the past year.
The Pageant Play is not only a play that has been greatly received by many already, but with your support it will finally give us a chance to bring its entertainment and power to a wider audience.
It is with your help being staged at The Hen and Chicken Theatre, 109 St. Pauls Road, Islington, London from 11th to the 15th of November.
Any help is appreciated at all as we attempt to stage new theatre in this current time!
