Hi, my name is Christina and I am fundraising to keep my 4 wonderful children and I from being permanently homeless in Marion County. The beginning of 2023 started like most New Years, full of hope and dreams. However that came crashing down when we became victims of Domestic Violence. My then spouse was arrested and we thought that would be the end of our nightmare and we could move forward. Little did we know that was only the beginning. He would then again be arrested, not knowing that his actions violated our lease agreement, we were asked to leave our 3 bedroom home. I then reached out to many resources available to me. Day after day I hit road blocks, shelter are all full and don’t accept families of more then 3 children. Funds for emergency housing have been exhausted, and even the social worker for my kids could not help. So with only the clothes we were wearing and a suitcase we started our journey of finding a place to sleep safely. Night after night we continue to sleep in parking lots and where building owners would let us. The kids lost everything including there safety and sense of peace. I am asking to please help me bring them back to a sense of normalcy. All funds will go towards finding shelter for us to start getting back on our feet. The breakdown of funds will be $1200 for a month stay at a local motel, $400 summer clothing for the kids, $1000 towards daycare for the boys (so I can get back to work) and $400 for travel related expenses. Thank you to those who have supported us so far and those who may support us in the future!
