The Scuderi Family is a family of three. Both Nick and Emily are very successful and full-time employers/employees in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area.

Nick Owns and Manages a successful plumbing company in Lake Charles.  Emily is employed at a local physicians office where she serves as a Nurse Practicioner.

In the recent weeks a tumor was found in their two year old's ( Owen) chest. Memorial hospital transported little Owen and the Scuderi Family to Texas Children’s hospital .

Owen has had multiple surgeries. Owen has had complication from biopsy and had fluid collect in the chest cavity causing his lung to collapse.  
The CT showed the mass does extend into the neck but not affecting organs. The “preliminary” report of biopsy says T cell lymphoblastic lymphoma which is a type of non Hodgkin lymphoma.

He has to have a lumbar puncture that included one dose of chemo into the cerebral spinal fluid. His picc line was also placed. They have started chemotherapy.
The Scuderi's met with lymphoma specialist and received a lot of overwhelming information. They graded it stage 2. The goal of chemotherapy is to induce remission in 4 weeks.
He will receive chemo for about 2.5 years for full treatment.
They told us the first 6 months are going to be very intense.
Currently: The tumor is breaking down but causes his electrolytes to become off balanced, having to increase his IV fluids to protects the kidneys and flush the extra electrolytes out. 


AS A FRIEND: I do know this....

Emily will more than likely not return to work ANYTIME soon.
And Nick being the entrepreneur that his is, will primarily be focused on getting Owen the best treatment possible, as well as doing his best to run a business... This task is VERY difficult.

I am starting this GOFUND me in hopes to offset hospital cost/expenses so that it will ease the pressure of having to keep up with bills, expenses, and day to day life.
