The Overland Track solo in Winter
Donation protected
Dear all,
Having recently discovered the wonders of the Australian outback, particularly the Snowy Mountains, through fly fishing. I am hiking solo (7 day trip) the famous Overland Track in the wilderness of Tasmania during the winter (June) of 2018, to raise funds to put two Aussie blokes who are struggling with mental health issues, whether PTSD, anxiety or depression through a fantastic outdoors initiative of a registered charity called the Fly Program.
I have attached a short video of what the program entails and the benefits of attendance. The 8 week program costs $1200 for each Aussie bloke.
I hope to raise enough money to place at least two blokes on the program, in the hope that they may embark upon a journey with nature that assists them getting back on track into the future.
For those of you who know me the Overland Track will be a significant undertaking for an overweight middle aged city slicker, with a torn meniscus who will need to turn 'Bear Grylls' for a week!!!!
Please spend 5 minutes, watch the video and donate for this very worthwhile cause, many men suffer in silence following a traumatic event in their lives. This could be your father, husband, brother or employee. Let's give a couple of Aussie blokes an opportunity of a new dawn.
thanks for your donation.
