The Other Side of The Door Journal

Donation protected
The Other Side of the Door - is a journal, which aims to support women & men who have experienced miscarriage and baby loss. It contains stories of women who have been through the experience of miscarriage and baby loss. It is a safe space where women can know they are not alone. Along this road, I have met some very special women, two who are now a big part of this journal too. It is the hope that our experiences, learnings and shared stories will now become part of someone else's survival guide, an attempt at a comfort blanket at the worst possible time. The hope is that this journal can be given out freely in maternity hospitals across Ireland, to be placed into the right hands at the right time.

"Following the loss of our little boy, Beau, to fatal foetal abnormality last year I have never felt so alone. In the early weeks of miscarriage and baby loss, the grief is so raw that often it is impossible to talk. As women, we can also be so hard on ourselves measuring our loss in terms of weeks. From the minute we see those two blue lines we all have hopes and dreams, a potential due date and a future imagined. To lose that is simply heartbreaking. I needed a comfort blanket in those early days of grief before I could find the strength to seek help, thus I started a journal. I wanted to do something that would both honour Beau and perhaps also help other women and parents who will, unfortunately, have to experience miscarriage and baby loss", explains Laura Doyle - creator of The Other Side of the Door.

Fundraising
We need help in order to make this a reality. We are looking for donations, so we can get this journal designed and printed. We realise it is a tough time for everyone right now but please know that any donation would be greatly appreciated.

The hope is we will have something printed to distribute in February next year. We have a lot lined up already but a lot more to do. We are also hoping to align with one or two charities of relevance.
