The Osborne's Brain Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Dear friends and family - we finally received the news that we have long awaited...the full results of Butch's brain biopsy. Butch has a Pilocytic Astrocytoma in his brain, which is the best possible type of tumor if you are going to have to deal with brain cancer!!! The downside is that the location of the tumor makes it inoperable. This cancer is something that we will together have to live with for the rest of our lives. This means a few things...1) surgical interventions for the rest of his life, as needed; 2) radiation treatments as needed (and able) to reduce the tumor size (and therefore symptoms); and 3) constant medical imaging to keep track of and manage this tumor, which again is a permanent condition. We have also learned that the "anxiety attacks" that he was having for months and months before the tumor was discovered were not anxiety attacks at all...they were temporal lobe seizures. Speaking of seizures...Butch also had a massive seizure in the hospital while we were in for the biopsy surgery which caused him to lose consciousness. What does that mean, you ask? In the State of MN that means that Butch has lost his privilege to drive. Because of this, Butch will not be able to go back to work until AT LEAST the beginning of April, which is going to cause a major concern for us when it comes to paying not only our usual monthly bills, but also the forthcoming medical/surgical/hospitalization bills. On top of that, these bills will continue to build as the years of treatment go by. Oh, and just to make matters a tad crappier (HAHA!)...as we were leaving the hospital after the biopsy...the battery in Butch's Suburban died causing the in-laws to have to drive us 2.5 hours to McGregor and then they later kindly brought Butch's truck back home to us. THEN, when we went to visit the Givens Brain Tumor Center in Minneapolis for the first time (which is also at the same hospital) the brakes in Butch's Suburban went out. We just got the call yesterday on that repair....$3500.00!!! As they say, when it rains, it pours! LOL! We would like to thank all of you who have already so graciously donated (to a previously made fundraiser) to help us out! It is so incredibly appreciated and makes us enormously thankful for the amazing and kind people that we have in our lives. This goes out to ALL donations made...be it monetary, in the form of prayer, good vibes, what have you! Each and every one of you has made a difference to us. And, please know, NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES....WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS!
Please know that all funds raised will go to paying all of the ongoing medical bills that we will consistently have for the foreseeable future.
