The Orgy SHORT FILM
Donation protected
Hi there. My name is Zane Rubin and I'm trying to make a short film. A little bit about me-- I'm a young female director from Los Angeles. I just finished a digital series called That's How I Lost The Last One for Comedy Central starring Jake Weisman. Before that, I did a digital series for Super Deluxe called R.I.P.
I have been making films steadily since I was 15. I have made about 7 shorts independently-- one of which was awarded SHORT OF THE WEEK.
This time I'm asking for a little help!
About the short: The Orgy is a dark comedy about a group of friends who get together one night for an innocent dinner. When all the friends decide to have an orgy, one person refuses to get on board. Her inability to indulge in sexual freedom offends everyone. What transpires is a comedic debate about sexuality and how if you aren't comfortable having sex with everyone, then you are not woke.
Why should this get made? In our Trump days, those of use who swing left have swung so left that we've decided everything is potentially offensive. This short will give us a laugh about the minutia of liberal culture, and the fact that we're all on the same side.
Who's in it? The CAST
Zane Rubin as Zoe
Lou Taylor Pucci as Dave
Kate Beecroft as Jocelyn
Charlie Hewson as Jared
Allan McLeod as Mike
Sai Lang as Alexis
Brodie Reed as Emmet
Kris Lemche as Leo-Paul
Producer
The wonderful Rob Hatch-Miller is producing this for FREE. Please give me money, if not to help me, to help him.
DP
The talented Sten Olson.
Editor
The cool Chris Levitus.
Here's where your money will go:
Equipment, we need 2 cameras to be able to shoot this since it is an 8 person dinner table scene. We have access to 1 camera, but we will need another along with some lenses, lights, sound equipment, van etc.
Crew, I am going to pull as many favors as I can but the reality is we need at least 2 ACs, a Gaffer, a Grip, Sound person, and an AD. Your money would make it so they don't have to work for free for 12 hours.
Food, people gotta eat and we have to feed like 20 of them.
Props, like food, wine, lamps, table clothes, and all the things you might find at a dinner party.
Actors, we have to pay all the actors the SAG minimum rate for a short film.
We are shooting in August. So I would need to money by mid July.
I would so appreciate being given any money to make this. I hate asking, I really do. But I honestly don't have 5K. For anyone who donates more than $20 we will give you a thanks in the credits! So, it's totally worth it. Right?
