"It is the only nice thing I ever had"
Two weeks ago, Eden swerved out of the way of a driver changing lanes and put her car into a guardrail, leaving it undrivable. We are going to get it back on the road.
Why?
19-year-old Eden is one of the strongest young women you will ever meet, and the victim of a crushing series of tragedies. While in 8th grade her divorced Mom was left a paraplegic by a car accident. Eden stepped up, leaving school to take care of her mother at 13.
But Eden didn't drop out. She taught herself high school and got her GED four years later. She moved out to California with a goal of studying psychiatry at University of Berkeley. She enrolled at College of Marin, got a job, and got an apartment.
No tutors, nobody to fall back on.
Her Dad, who couldn't support her, told her he would fix up his old BMW for her.
He died in a car crash Thanksgiving last year before he could do it.
When COVID hit, she was evicted.
That same day she was notified that her dear brother was murdered in a random gun incident.
I fixed the car with her. We got it damn near perfect.
Two weeks later it is wrecked.
I need the money to help her pay for the parts to repair the car. I will fix it again.
Please help. Eden is strong, but how many 19-year-olds do you know that could withstand this.

Once this fundraiser is complete, I will be personally withdrawing the funds. The money will be used first to pay a body shop to ensure the frame is straight and safe, and then on parts needed to return the car to the road.
These funds are unlikely to cover the total cost, but if it is possible to get this car running, I commit to doing so. If we find the car is not repairable, all funds will go towards the purchase of a replacement used car.
