Thank you for your interest in The One Thing. This project means the world to us. This is a story Saniya has been crafting with MONTHS of love, late-night writing sessions, and juggling several things at once. She is also planning on submitting these to several film-festivals and adding this project to her growing resume in order to get into film school. We are excited to take you all on this journey with us.

WHAT IS THE ONE THING?

The One Thing is a funny, surreal, and personal coming-of-age comedy about high school, friendships, and the inevitable, terrifying future of growing up. It's about that ONE wild night you never forgot—how the smallest, stupidest decisions can become the moments that define us. In a relatable, humorous way, this is reflected in a 1999 house party gone completely wrong. More details on the Synopsis is included in our video. THIS ENTIRE FILM IS 100% STUDENT DIRECTED, WRITTEN, COMPOSED, CASTED, AND PRODUCED. The One Thing is a teenage story told through teenagers.

As a rising senior herself, Saniya intends to make sure this film captures what it feels like to stand on the edge of your entire life changing: messy, nostalgic, frustrating, funny, emotional—and hopefully, irreplaceable.

This film is for those who value stories with heart, humor, silliness, and relatability. If you've ever felt like an outsider, felt like you're running out of time, or if you're still on a journey of figuring everything out—this story is for you. Adult or Child, we transition through life wondering and worrying about what awaits us, yet neglect the sincerity of the present. With a unique, specific filming-style, we hope to recreate the magic and realism of early 2000s movies with an authentic creative approach. They just don't make movies like this anymore.

WHAT WILL THIS MONEY BE PUT TOWARDS?

Again, this upcoming school year (and the following summer), we are planning to submit our film to several Atlanta-based film festivals! Saniya, our Director, is also planning to submit this on her resumes for film schools in the upcoming college application season. This is a very exciting breakthrough for not only us but for our actors to experience as well. We need funds for securing filming locations, catering, equipment, props, costumes, and submission + travel to these festivals. We would love any kind of support you'd like to give. It would mean the world to us to be able to make this dream come true.
