Daniel Oliveira Memorial Fund

Uncle Danny,

He is someone who has touched so many lives in so many different ways. To know him was to absolutely love him. We are understandably shocked by this loss and heartbroken. No one could ever imagine his life being taken from us so soon.

Early in February, Uncle Daniel had a sudden heart attack and passed. He was doing what he loved and that was working in the yard with his family. He is survived by the love of his life, Keana, son, Makali'i, and daughters, Kilinoe and Kealohi. As well as his mother, Yolanda (Mama), and sisters Tasha and Missy. If you knew "Uncle Danny", you know how much he loved his family. From his high school sweetheart to his three beautiful kids, “crazy sisters”, mama, and his extended family; he had enough for everyone. He was the life of the party and someone who everyone admired. There is not a single soul who can't say their life was not impacted by Uncle Danny. He truly would take a bullet for anyone and he served our community so effortlessly. Uncle Daniel joined the military and spent four years in the U.S. Navy before joining the Kauai Police Department. Recently, in July 2021, Uncle Daniel was promoted to Lieutenant and honored by wearing his own father's uniform. He was one of the most selfless individuals anyone has met.

Uncle Daniel was something more than an Uncle for me. He was like my dad and raised me as his "honorary daughter" and "honorary Oliveira". He encouraged every one of my goals (even the unrealistic ones) and even got a little "salty" when I chose to play volleyball away rather than at UH. I am forever grateful for the lessons and love that Uncle Daniel always showed me and those around him.

With this sudden loss of such an important person in our family, we are asking for donations to help Aunty Keana, the kids, and the entire family pay for the expenses that come with this loss.
