Hello, I'm Hoorain Siddiqui, a school student with aspirations to be an outstanding leader who actively advocates for my community. I attend a school in the Hawkesbury and am currently the school captain, taking on this role to ensure that my school community is healthy, successful, and connected. I'm involved in my community through my participation in an international cultural exchange program for the Hawkesbury.

I believe I am a true servant leader who is a quiet achiever working behind the scenes to build the capacity of others, manage the details of events and programs, and ensure they are implemented successfully. I proudly embrace the saying "quiet enough to listen and loud enough to be heard."

I have been selected as the youth representative for the Londonderry electorate at the Y NSW’s Youth Parliament for 2026. This is a great honor and a chance for me to use my voice as a young person in New South Wales. Youth Parliament is a transformative leadership program that will provide me with skills and understanding of the parliamentary process, debating, and advocating for local issues and concerns that impact my community.

I am thrilled to be accepted into this program, to build new friendships, and to learn the skills I need for the real world. This program provides me with the opportunity to speak up on issues that matter in my community and finally be a voice for the youth. In the program, we work on passing bills and creating portfolios on real-world issues, allowing me to build my confidence in speaking about topics that are important not only to me but also to my community. I aim to represent my local community on issues that matter while developing my leadership and advocacy skills. The program is more than just a leadership program; it is a path to make a real difference for young people.

The cost I am looking to fundraise is $2000 to cover the entire program. I am looking to raise these funds through this GoFundMe, and I am also actively seeking sponsors to not only raise this money but also to use this as a networking opportunity to learn about communication and partnerships.
