The Next Steps of Chris and Kathryn's GBS Journey

Donation protected
As you all know, Chris Sutherland was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS), a rare neurological disorder in which the immune system attacks part of the periferal nervous system. At the onset of the GBS in May 2022, Chris was fully paralyzed and in the ICU for months. Chris has been in recovery at Victoria General Hospital for the past 16 months (479 days to be exact). As of September, 2023, though his nervous system is still in recovery, he is back home with Kathryn on a full time basis!! Woohoo!!

Because Chris' diagnosis was the most aggressive form of GBS with the slowest recovery time (called "Acute Motor and Sensory Axonal Neuropathy"), the next step of their journey is going to be an expensive one, as they require modifications to make their apartment accessible, as well as continuous healthcare supports to aid in his road to recovery.

Many people have asked how they can support Chris and Kathryn, and while visits and hangouts are important and we definitely need to keep those going, financial assistance will also play a key role in this new stage of kicking GBS' ass.

Any amount you can offer is appreciated and will not go unnoticed.
