The Next Step for Tobias
Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Tobias Mulcahy and I am 18 years old.
At age 11, I discovered my passion for dance - from there I have been striving to become a professional dancer in a company overseas. Over the past two years I have completed my Certificate III and IV in Dance at the Charlesworth Ballet Institute in Perth, Western Australia. While training for the past five years at the Charlesworth Ballet Institute have completed my high school education through the Schools of Isolated and Distance Education.
I have recently been given the opportunity to fulfil my dream to have a career as a professional dancer. The director of the Charlesworth Ballet Institute, Sonya Shepherd, has offered to take me on a trip around Europe at the end of April. During this tour, I’ll be auditioning for dance schools and companies based in Dresden, Munich, Hamburg, Amsterdam and Mannheim. Unfortunately, this opportunity comes at a heavy price of $10,000 AUD.
Raising the funds for this will be a task. While my mother works fulltime and my father is self-employed, they have devoted their time and money to provide for myself and my other three siblings. Living closer to the ballet studios in Perth puts a strain on our living and financial situation while the rest of my family lives two hours away from me.
I’m hoping that by starting this fundraiser I will be able to achieve my dreams of becoming a professional dancer. The funds will cover flight/travel expenses, accommodation, dance attire, food and basic living essentials.
All donations made will be greatly appreciated by myself and my family. I will post frequent updates leading up to the Europe trip and onwards. Thank you all so much and this wouldn’t be possible without your support.
