What does it take to get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, (money) Practice (more money), Practice (ALL the money)!
For nine years, Amanda Biggs has taken a break from her international opera career to pursue different matters of the heart; her call to teaching and her desire to create a family. In that time, she has taught over 150 voice students of all ages and abilities and given birth to two wonderful boys, all while steadily accumulating the hours needed to become a master performer. A tremendously gifted singer, she believes that those who can should *also* teach, and she has become a household name and vital component of the Bloomington arts community as both an instructor and featured performer in musical theater and concert work.

Now, with the boys old enough to voice their support and join her on her adventures, it's time for Amanda to make her return to the competitive world of opera -- and this time, she'll be bringing her family with her. Anyone who has had a career and children knows how difficult (and expensive) it is to travel with them in tow, but Amanda's commitment to her career is just as imperative to her as showing her boys how a strong woman can thrive as both a dedicated, working mother and a successful artist.



Since her recent return, Amanda has already qualified as a semi-finalist in the New York Lyric Opera voice competition,  resulting in an invitation to sing at the opera showcase and finals competition at Carnegie Hall. Amanda has also been given opportunities to audition for Indianapolis mainstage and principle role auditions, Manhattan International Music Competition, and the Nicola Martinucci International Voice Competition.
