The Nettles Family

I come to you on behalf of one of my dearest friends, Kim Nettles. On February 6, 2019, her husband, Patrick Nettles, age 47, of Johnsonville, SC, passed away. As Kim stated so truthfully, Heaven gained another angel. For those of you who had the privilege of knowing Pat, you knew that he was a diabetic. In 2012, Pat sustained a blister on the bottom of his foot and his life was a roller coaster ride ever since. Due to his diabetes, he battled with his foot and the infection and underwent numerous surgeries trying to save it. In January of 2018, Pat’s foot worsened and during that time he got pancreaitis. He became nearly septic and was rushed to Duke. On that particular night, Pat thought he was dying. He nearly did. At that same time, the decision was made to amputate Pat’s leg below the knee. For six (6) years, they had battled with the condition of his foot, but Pat was always a fighter. He joked about his leg and he never let it slow him down. For those who knew Pat, there was no doubt that he would not allow the amputation to slow him down in any way. If anything, he pushed himself harder than ever because he wanted more than anything to be the provider for his family that he loved so dearly.
On February 6, 2019, Pat was at home and was not feeling well. Before going to bed, he collapsed and became unresponsive. He coded several times in route to the hospital. Despite the severity of the circumstances, Kim thought that, once again, she would bring her husband and best friend home. God had a different plan. Pat is now at his eternal home with the Lord.
Although we know that Pat is in a much better place and running down the streets of gold with both legs, he has left behind a wife and two beautiful children in college. Pat did not have any life insurance and on top of losing her husband, Kim is concerned about the finances and losing her home, not to mention her children’s college tuition. Kim is not one to ask for anything. She has always been a giver and not a taker. Throughout all of this process since 2012, she has exemplified more faith and strength than anyone I know. She has a heart of gold and has always put others before herself. When most people would have been shedding tears, Kim was praising the Lord and giving Him glory at all times despite the many rocky roads they had to travel. Now, I would like for her to get back at least a small portion of what the enemy has stolen from her. Will you help me help her and her family? Any amount will help. I thank you and she and her family thank you in advance.
