The Nest Minibus

So for those of you who don't know much about us we are The Nest. We have a specialist nursery based in Bolton and are very lucky to work with lots of wonderful children and their families with special needs.

Over the last four years the number of children needing the support The Nest can provide has increased significantly.

One of our goals in The Nest is to make sure our children get ALL of the opportunities their peers do. We take our children swimming, to the park, to play centres and to the shops. We are lucky that our swimming teacher can collect us on his mini bus but for all our other outings we have to rely on taxis or walk which can be very expensive and not always practical with our children who struggle with transitions.

Some of our families who access also do not have any mode of transport themselves which leaves them having to walk sometime in the pouring rain or again pay for expensive taxis to get to us.

Unfortunately as we are not a local authority setting our children cannot access LA transportation. Funding for early years children is abmismal.

We are hoping over the coming year to do as much fund raising as possible to purchase a mini bus that means we will be able to provide transport for our children, access weekly trips out into the community and to give our children and families THE BEST possible experiences and opportunities.

Being able to do this will have a huge impact on our families and we would appreciate any small donation or support with fundraising in any way you can.
