The Nerve Project - 1st Production!
Donation protected
We at The Nerve Project find empathy to be a precious commodity in desperate need of preservation. Theater is and has always been a means to unite audiences through shared experiences, joy, sorrow, and catharsis. We are committed to activating empathy in our audiences by distilling truth through limitless nerve and imagination.
Using classic works of theatre and literature as well as original works, the Nerve Project is a collective of artists seeking to create dynamic, thought-provoking theatre.
Our inaugural production, Catherine Bush's adaptation of the classic novel Great Expectations, has been accepted to the NY Winterfest, an off-Broadway play festival focused on producing new works.
With your generous donation we will be able to obtain rehearsal spaces, pay our director and set and lighting designers, purchase costumes, props, and set materials, and insure our actors against accidents. We are hoping to be able to compensate those individuals who are donating their expertise and time to help us make the dream of our first production come to life.
With performances beginning January 15th, 2019, we hope you will assist us in creating an engaging piece of art by the end of 2018.
Your donation means that our dream of bringing thought-provoking theatre to New York City will come to life. While there are many fledgling theatre companies here we believe that our team can engage empathy and create community with our productions, commodities that should never be endangered.
We, as The Nerve Project, would be so incredibly grateful for your donations and assistance in funding new theatre in our very first production. We hope that Great Expectations can exceed expectations, and with your help, it will!
