The Necie Project"

Denise "Necie" Williams was born in 1963 in Ga., into a very loving, caring and supportive family. At the age of 16 months, Necie experienced a stroke, leaving her paralizsed on her left side and dealing with a lifetime of physical challenges. Necie was chosen at three years old to be a poster child for Easter Seals. Through physical therapy, which included many visits to Warm Springs, Ga. and other support, Necie was able to overcome many challenges and attended highschool as well as studied at DeKalb County Technical College. She has always attended church faithfully and been an uplifting light to all who know her. Later as an adult Necie moved into assisted living. She worked her entire adult life with her last job being a School Bus Aid for the Dekalb County School District. As a school bus aid she worked with young physically challenged children in order to suplement her own SSA disability. She kept her position as a dedicated employee for ten years. During that time she had to work extra hours due to scheduled field trips and went over her allowed wages by $50 for one month. This caused her to loose her SSA disabilty with which she'd maintained a reasonably happy, indepent life. Afterward because of the strenuous work affecting her physically, she was let go from the School District. For 3 years Neice has not received any SSA or been able to work to supplement her daily living needs and has been receiving help from friends, family and the Church. Unfortunately, with the current economy, this assistance is not enough. The court recently ruled in her favor for benefits and back payments but she has not yet received anything.

Necie took a fall in December and now has incurred a back problem and getting in and out of her bed is a challenge so she prefers to sleep in an easy chair. The chair she has is old, torn, and not easy to manipulate with her physical disabilities. It is our hope you will donate to "The Necie Project" to allow her to purchase a new chair and to cover any personal expenses she may incur while awaiting her case to be resolved. God Bless you all for your generosity!
