VETS.COM and Veterans.org were originally founded in 1996 by Charles “Sarge” Napier (SFC Ret.) with a simple but powerful mission: to serve veterans and their families by providing reliable information, honest guidance, and a sense of community online.

After nearly 15 years of building and developing the platform, Sarge passed away due to medical complications. Not long after, the websites went offline and remained dormant for nearly a decade.

Today, under the leadership of Iraq War veteran William Carroll and Charles’ daughter Megan Napier Carroll, VETS.COM has returned with renewed purpose while remaining faithful to Sarge’s original vision.

Our goal is not just to rebuild what once existed — it is to create a modern, veteran-focused platform that genuinely helps veterans navigate life after service. VETS.COM is becoming a growing hub for veteran resources, benefits guidance, research, educational content, and direct community support.

We are focused on publishing practical, experience-driven articles covering topics such as:

• Transitioning after ETS or retirement
• Using the GI Bill and education benefits
• Navigating VA healthcare and disability systems
• Veteran legislation and policy updates
• Military culture, history, and current events

One of the most important parts of VETS.COM is direct engagement with veterans themselves. That is why we revived Sarge’s original “Ask Sarge” concept through our “Ask A Specialist” feature, where veterans and family members can submit real questions and receive personalized guidance and researched answers.

As VETS.COM continues to grow, we are also expanding into video content, social media outreach, interviews, veteran storytelling, and community-driven discussions designed to make information easier to access for the next generation of veterans.

Unlike many modern websites, our goal is to keep VETS.COM clean, independent, and free from intrusive advertising. We do not want veterans searching for help to be overwhelmed by popups, spammy ad placements, or corporate-driven content.

That independence comes with real operating costs.

Your donations help us:

• Keep VETS.COM and Veterans.org online and operational
• Continue publishing free veteran-focused resources and research
• Maintain and improve the “Ask A Specialist” program
• Develop new tools, content, and community features
• Expand our video, podcast, and social media efforts
• Support server costs, development, and daily operations
• Preserve an ad-light experience without relying on aggressive monetization

We are also continuing development of Veterans.org as a companion platform focused on veteran assistance programs, nonprofit initiatives, and charitable outreach.

One of our long-term initiatives is the Veterans Automotive Service Program (VASP), a project aimed at helping veterans with vehicle maintenance and repair assistance. Reliable transportation can be the difference between stability and hardship, and our long-term vision is to create a nationwide network capable of supporting veterans in need while also creating opportunities for veteran employment within the automotive industry.

Our future goals include:

• Expanding our veteran resource library and news coverage
• Building a stronger veteran creator and contributor network
• Launching veteran-focused merchandise and partnerships made in the USA
• Growing our YouTube, podcast, and media presence
• Developing additional tools and services for veterans and families
• Continuing work toward sustainable nonprofit initiatives through Veterans.org

Every donation directly helps preserve and grow an independent veteran platform built by veterans and for veterans.

If you believe veterans deserve access to trustworthy information, real community support, and a platform that puts veterans before advertising revenue, please consider supporting our mission.

Most funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will go toward maintaining and expanding the online operations of VETS.COM and Veterans.org, supporting development costs, infrastructure, content production, and organizational growth.

Additionally, 10% of all GoFundMe donations will be allocated toward continued development and implementation of the Veterans Automotive Service Program.
