The Nanyaro Foundation: rebuilding a Tanzanian school

Kingse Safaris runs on one promise: the people who plan your safari are the same people who run it on the ground in Tanzania. The Nanyaro Foundation is the other half of that promise.

We named it after the family of Peter Nanyaro, who runs everything on our side in Tanzania. Pete's father was a pastor in the area and his family were farmers, so this one is personal. The Foundation is how Kingse uses its platform to back community projects across Tanzania, one at a time, and see each one through. This is where it starts.

Our first project is a small school that teaches the youngest children out of a few old rented buildings in northern Tanzania. The land beneath it once belonged to Pete's family, and we're working to get it back into safe hands so the school can stay where it is, for good. That part we're handling ourselves.

What we're raising for here is everything that comes next, in the order that matters: clean water, power and proper toilets first; then real classrooms to replace the rented rooms; then fair pay for the teachers and materials for the kids; and over time, growing it into a full primary school a child can finish without ever leaving their community.

Where your money goes: every dollar goes to this school. Because it's in Tanzania, donations come to an Australian account and we send them straight to the work on the ground through Pete, and we cover the platform and transfer fees ourselves so 100% of what you give reaches the school. We're not a registered charity, so donations aren't tax-deductible, they go directly to the kids. If you're travelling with us, you're welcome to visit and see exactly where it goes.

Thank you,
Jackson and Pete, Kingse Safaris
