The Moss Family due to Hurricane Ian

Donation protected
Hey everyone, as some of you may have seen on Facebook our race family and friends, the Moss Family experienced a horrific situation. Hurricane Ian left their home, yard, garage and race shop under water. With over 4 inches of water in their home, 2-3 feet of water in their race shop and up to 4-5 feet of water in their yard, the Moss Family and their 4 dogs are left without a place to sleep. They have a long road ahead of them with replacing carpets, flooring, furniture, appliances, personal items, race car motors and parts, damage to their race trailer, pool and so much more… we have the BEST racing family and community and I hope we can come together and help take some of the stress of the Moss family as the insurance will not cover all of this, all the time it will take to work on the home and property and not having a place to sleep until work can get done as everything is wet, Smelly and will start to mold.

Tulsa is right around the corner and seeing their cars in the water, knowing they have motors and parts and tools under the water and their trailer submerged, this race family is heart broken. Let’s help them get them racing again too.

The Moss family are wonderful people! They are always doing for others on and off the race track. They have a heart of gold and will always help others in need. We need to come together to help them during their time of need.

We are trying to figure out a more permanent solution for the water, because as soon as it rains again if the water isn’t low enough it will be back inside the house. Possible hiring of engineer and contractors to redesign the land, such as raising everything up. Building a pond of some sort in the front. Just somewhere for the water to go. Because as of now there is nowhere for it to go except the driveway, front yard. And now inside the house. The center of the driveway/yard the water is over 5 feet deep. Fence alongside the house is 4 feet tall and those are underwater.

Water inside the house was about 4 inches tall. What can be saved will be saved. Was able to put valuables and couches on top of other furniture in effort to save it from any water damage.

Mold Damage

Electrical damage? Due to water

Power to the house is currently shut off, with exception of fridges to try to preserve the food

Water inside the trailer, water damage to inside?

Garage: was able to put Rhea and Paige’s cars on stands. One car did fall slightly. Won’t know til we can get them out and dry if there was any damage to cars or motors. Some parts were underwater may need possible replacing won’t know til the cars are out. Motors were not able to get put to higher ground in time and are completely underwater. Multiple tools and parts are submerged won’t know the extent til some water is drained somehow.

Can’t use bathrooms in house because drain field, septic, pump and lift station for septic are all completely saturated with water that it will back up into the house.

Will need pumps, fans, dehumidifiers.
