Imagine having family dinner at your mom's house and getting THAT phone call.... you know the one from a friend/neighbor that says, "YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!" I couldn't either - My best friend answered that phone call July 27, 2020 - the evening she and her husband, Travis, daughter, Sierra, and son, Chase lost their home and everything inside and on the outside due to a fire. They also lost their beloved family dog, Zoe.
I have started a Go Fund Me Page in their honor as I know they will never ask for help because they are the help.... they would give you the shirt off their back, a place to stay, food to eat, and a friendship of a lifetime. Maybe reading Danielle's post (I stole from her facebook page) will give you a sense of who she (they) are as a family, what they are going through, and provide a sense of why I have started this page.
(from Dani's post:) My dog Zoey did not make it and we are still in shock and mourning. The house is destroyed. We got what we could and left the rest. What I can tell you is this, when you watch your life go up in flames but you are hugging the ones you love the most, everything else is irrelevant. Yes, the house was a loss but the dog/Zoey was the travesty in our hearts and minds. The other stuff were just things. Things we worked hard for, memories kept in photos and keepsakes lost, but so much more could have been at stake. I couldn’t ask for better friends and framily in my life at this moment We have been left with nothing but yet I feel as if we have so much. We will never get Zoey back but we know she is now with Tyson and will love her from afar. Please know that all the love and hugs and messages and phone calls are so appreciated - more than you know. I would never wish this upon anyone but with the love and support from you all, I know we will survive! From my heart and soul thank you to every that has shown so much compassion! I love you all
Dani has asked for nothing but love and we all know that love will not pay the bills, or for new clothes, or anything of the like that comes along with just living, like brushing your teeth. It is a hard truth to swallow when you realize your toothbrush (that costs money) was in the fire. Let that sink in. Then, add on top of it, everything thing else.
I want to help them carry the weight of the world that I know is on their shoulders. They will never admit it, though. Many of us are like that, I am sure. They wont ask for a hand out as they are normally the ones handing out. So, this is where we come in. We, as friends, family, and a community can give just a little to a family that is still coming to terms with everything that they have lost. Every little bit helps and I know that they wouldn't hesitate to help had this happened to anyone else.
