The Morrison family recovery

Last night we experienced the stuff of
family nightmares, as we got the news my brother-in-law Austin, was being rushed by ambulance to a hospital in Massachusetts last night. He is in critical condition. He had gotten both of his hands caught in a cement mixer on a job site - a freak accident - doing something he’d done a million times on the job. He had three fingers ripped out of his left hand, and multiple bones broken on his right hand and forearm. They were unable  to reattach the fingers because they weren’t salvageable, due to the violent way they were ripped from his hand. His wife, my sister Erika, is still processing the crushing reality, of what this recovery process will look like for them emotionally, physically and financially. Austin is going into a long surgery now to repair what can be repaired, and we don’t have a lot of info to move forward yet, but we know the road will be long. I started this gofundme in hopes to alleviate some of the financial burden of losing a whole income, as my sister and her husband navigate what this recovery will entail. 

Austin is one of the most incredible, gentle and compassionate men I know. I’ve only ever considered him a real brother to me, and one of the best additions to our family. This happening to him of all people seems incredibly unfair, but I have faith and hope in his resilience, and the community around him, that will pull together.
