The Moroz family from Ukraine living in Austin

Donation protected

This is an important message from my friends, Lillian and Ken Hardy, who have generously opened their home and their hearts to this beautiful Ukrainian family here in Austin, Texas

Several weeks ago, we had the honor of welcoming a refugee family to our guest house. They are the delightful Moroz family: Gregory, Daryna, and their two children, Yacob, age 4 and Agatha age 2. They are expecting a new baby this fall. After their long and arduous journey to escape this horrific war and the rest they needed upon arrival, we are finally getting to know them. Many of our friends have already helped them navigate some of their healthcare and other needs however, there is so much more to be done and they face many unknowns. Gregory and Daryna have a close relationship with another Ukrainian family and a small church in western Ukraine actively involved in assisting refugees. The Lenko family (who are spending much of their own money) and this church helped the Moroz family escape their dangerous situation. They are in the process of rehabbing a building in the Uzhoron area, a safe zone in Ukraine, to help safely shelter others in need.

Last night we had Borscht and Verenyky with them and their good friends who are here in Austin as well, Andrii, Ksenia, and Ksenia's sister, Olga. Olga is married, but her husband is on the front lines near Kherson. Andrii seemed exhausted, as he had just returned in the middle of the night from a surplus auction in Las Vegas where he purchased much needed medical and personal safety equipment already on its way to Poland to save lives. They know many courageous helpers involved with evacuating people from occupied and destroyed areas. Through these faith-based contacts, they have detailed information about precisely what is needed to save lives and reunited families in the more vulnerable areas. The list includes everything from eye protection and tourniquets to equipment and supplies which will allow them to move people more quickly to safety.
We look forward to supporting their efforts and hope you will join us in helping the people of Ukraine as they resist Russia's unprovoked invasion.

With love, Ken and Lillian
