In January 2022 , one of Roncalli Lady Rovals Basketball's biggest supporters and fans, Seth Lindsey, lost his battle with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. His daughter, Claire, is a Junior starter for the Royals' Varsity squad.
To honor Seth, his family and friends have planned a Colon Cancer Awareness Night to coincide with the January 4 match-up between southside rivals Roncalli Royals and Franklin Central Flashes.
The event seeks to raise funds to support a family within the local southside community who is still battling colorectal cancer, as well as awareness of screening options to promote early detection and better health outcomes. We have identified a family who we would like to support at what we hope to be the first of many such events. We would like to support J.J. Moriarty, a 1988 Roncalli grad, who is battling Stage 4 Colon Cancer. The Moriarty Family are South Deanery (Nativity) parishioners. Their youngest is currently a junior at Franklin Central, and part of the boys basketball program. Seth and J.J. were diagnosed just weeks apart and the families journeyed through many of the highs and lows together, providing prayers and support at key steps in the battle.
Seth was always very generous and hope you follow his lead!
