Kristina Morgan (Burgdorf) was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Ovarian Cancer after being admitted to the hospital for extreme pregnancy complications. After a multitude of tests, the doctors felt that an emergency c-section was necessary, and during the surgery they discovered cancer in her ovaries, kidneys, stomach, and liver. Baby Laurel was prematurely born at 31 weeks, weighing in at 3lbs 9.1oz and 16.4" long. She is still being treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and making progress every day. After a month-long stay in the hospital, Kristina is undergoing aggressive cancer treatments, including chemotherapy and major surgery.
