The Moonen Family

Hi, for those of you who don’t know Im Justin Moonen. A husband to my beautiful wife and a dad to 4 awesome children. This spring I was diagnosed with stage 1 Pancreatic cancer. Up until now I’ve kept this fight a private matter. I just finished my last round of chemo this last week and meet with my surgeon this week to get on the schedule for surgery to remove the mass on the pancreas. From what I’ve been told this surgery will occur in January.

This is a major surgery with a recovery period of up to 8 weeks. As Im recovering I won’t be able to work as I normally would. As a one income family this will be a large obstacle to overcome.

There are also some unexpected medical bills that have popped up concerning this journey that have added to the financial obligations we are now faced with.

My goal in starting this fundraiser is to be able to make sure our household can continue to function as normally as possible as I am recovering from this major surgery as well as to minimize any medical obligations as well.
