The Montebello Barnyard Zoo and animals from the fires.
Donation protected
We at the Montebello Barnyard Zoo are asking if you can please help. Due to the fires, I was thinking, what can I do to help? So, we opened the doors to any animals that may need a place to call home for a little while or forever. I put a post up on social media about wanting to help.
I want to share a story about this beautiful family, the Chavez family. Their best friend reached out to me and told me how her friends lost everything. Their house burnt down, and the kids' school burnt down. The wife quit her job over a year ago to start doing a traveling zoo with farm animals. So now, since their house of twelve years burnt down, they have nowhere to keep all of their animals. Just in one day, their whole life changed. When I heard this, right away I said, bring all of the animals to the zoo. So, the family agreed to bring them with us. My heart breaks for what they are going through and having to start all over again. So today, on January 14, 2025, they brought all of their animals.
We would be so thankful for any donations to help with food for the animals or anything else they may need, like seeing a vet, buying houses for the bunnies, and getting hay. We need to make sure with this cold weather that we will have everything we need for our animals and the Chavez family’s farm animals to be comfortable and warm. My reason for doing this is to make sure all of the animals are together in one place and that the family can be okay as well. I don’t want the family to feel like they have to give us anything because we are doing this for them to be able to save money to have a new home. Any donation you make will be so helpful. We do have a donation box at the zoo, and also the place we get our animals' food is called Generation West if you would like to contact them. We thank you for all of your love and support. Thank you from all of us at the Montebello Barnyard Zoo.
