Jay & Charlene Monteagudo are originally from New York but came to Texas so Charlene could study at Christ For The Nations. They are parents of two beautiful girls named Caylie (12) and Cara (6). They are also small group leaders at Church on the Hill.
With hopeful anticipation the family was excited to welcome their 3rd daughter baby Cate due in August. However due to a high risk pregnancy Charlene had to go in to the hospital early. She went in to be monitored and her doctor said that the amniotic fluid was low. There the team talked to them about delivering the baby early mainly because the nutrients in the cord were reversing and not going to baby Cate. The medical professionals believed that she would be healthier outside the womb. So unexpectedly Jay & Charlene had to make the difficult decision to deliver at only 25 weeks on April 26th.
Sadly baby Cate did not make it and only lived 45 minutes after birth.
The news was devastating to all. She was already greatly loved by her parents and big sisters. Thankfully they were able to take photos and say goodbye one last time.
Now because of the C-section Charlene's mobility will be very limited. She will be home for at least 2-3 weeks and is under strict doctor's orders not to use the stairs.
Please join us as we help the Monteagudo family during their bereavement. Charlene and Jay have medical bills and funeral expenses to tend to and we would like to take some weight off their shoulders. Any amount will help! Thanks in advance!
