So myself, and good chums Ben and Aaron are taking part in the Monkey Run Peru this April. Starting high up in the Andes mountains in Ayyucucho we'll be heading on a roughly 1000km trip over 8 days across the Andes mountains and eventually (or perhaps hopefully is the better word) ending up at the finish line in the Amazon rainforest. And we're going to be doing this on..... Monkey Bikes!
That's right at 5.1HP with a whopping 90 cubic centimetres they are the perfect machines to be riding up and down mountains.. right?.. Well! To make it that but more challenging we have vowed to take this on without using phones or GPS for navigation and accommodation. We'll sleep at wherever we can find along the way. What could possibly go wrong!?
In doing this I'd like to raise a bit of cash for The Billy Redmayne Memorial Fund along the way. They helped me massively with my main goal of racing on the World Famous TT course as they help many other newcomers at the Manx GP chasing their dreams. It's organisations like this that help and support the future of road racing so please if you can support them by supporting us now then please throw us a few quid. In return you'll get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing you did a good thing as well as being able to enjoy laughing at us 3 as we stumble our way across Peru. I'll try to keep you guys updated through Facebook with photos and maybe some videos when I get the signal.
