The Mitterholzer Family's Breast Cancer Fight
Donation protected
2020 has been a very tough year for everyone, but it has been especially devastating for the Mitterholzer Family. Jen discovered a lump in the third trimester of her pregnancy, and was diagnosed with rapidly progressing, stage 3 breast cancer at 32 weeks pregnant. Her team of doctors made the difficult decision to take the baby early so they could get to work on her as quickly as possible. Baby Otto was born at 34 weeks, on October 4th 2020, weighing 5lbs 2.6oz. He spent just over a month in the NICU at Fairview Hospital, where Jen & Matt visited him daily. On Saturday November 7th, he came home to his adoring sister Jovi, parents and grandparents.
While Baby Otto is doing as well as can be expected, Jen has the fight of her life ahead. This includes multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation over the coming months. There are many ways friends and family can support her and her beautiful family, but this GoFundMe is intended to help relieve even a little monetary stress this poor family is facing. From the mortgage on their new house, to utilities, to daycare, to medical bills, to lost income from the pandemic, to infant diapers, to transportation to treatment, to making the holidays a little brighter...ANY donation amount will be greatly appreciated.
In conjunction with this GoFundMe, we are also holding a charity volleyball & bocce tournament on Saturday February 6th, 2021. We are gladly accepting volunteers, teams, and monetary or basket donations for this event. Additional information can be found on NEO Sportsplant’s facebook page under the “Fight Like A Girl Charity Tournament” event -or- by contacting Rodger Smith ([email redacted]) or me directly ([email redacted]).
Thank you in advance for your support of this amazing, beautiful, strong woman and her deserving family.
Gratefully,
Kristi Gerard
