Support my Mom’s Potential Breast Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Hello to everyone reading!
My name is Kayleigh Morrow, and I'm reaching out during one of the hardest times my family has faced. My mom, Allen, has recently discovered a lump in her breast, and her doctors have recommended an urgent biopsy to determine if it’s cancer. They determined it to have a 99% chance of it being breast cancer. As you can imagine, the waiting and uncertainty are overwhelming — but what's even more overwhelming is the cost.
We're currently preparing for her biopsy on April 28th. Depending on the results, she could potentially be facing chemotherapy, surgery, and ongoing treatments. To make matters worse, last week we had a separate devastating family emergency. Hospital bills are beginning to pile up, and my family will not be able to handle the financial burden of this on top of our regular bills.
But, before I carry on, I would like you all to meet my mom first.
My mom, Allen, is pictured on the second to the right, next to me. She is currently 51 (turning 52 on July 4th!) and in 2003, she migrated with my sister from a small island in the Philippines called Siquijor to the United States to start a family, which consisted of them and my dad. In 2004, our family was complete and she started to plant her feet in America. After a few hit-and-miss jobs, my mom decided to start her own business–a cleaning business. It is hard work, but she has been doing it for as long as I can remember and it continues to get harder on her as the years go on and she ages. Not only is it difficult physically but it is also difficult mentally. But, despite all of that, she continues to help the people who need her services. My mom is one of the strongest women I know, and it would mean everything to my family if we could help her continue her path of strength :-)
Here in America, we only have each other–me, my sister, my dad, and my mom. For most of my life, it has only been the four of us. It has been difficult, but it is especially difficult now. We’re doing everything we can on our end, but the financial burden is simply too much for us to carry alone. That’s why I’ve started this GoFundMe — to ask for help from anyone willing to contribute. Whether it’s $5 or just sharing this page with others, every bit helps and means the world to us. All donations will go directly to covering the cost of: the biopsy procedure, follow-up appointments and diagnostic tests, potential breast cancer treatments (chemo, radiation, surgery), and hospital and medication expenses.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, donating, and simply keeping us in your thoughts.
With love and gratitude,
