At Undiscovered Country, a Northampton-based social enterprise with a reach across the UK and beyond, we truly believe in the power of theatre to bring about positive change.
We've been asked to develop a vital online educational resource: a digital version of the play, 'The Missing Peace' (originally 'The Fire In Cambridge'), by Roy Leighton and Craig Green. This 'Theatre of Peace' production has been specifically designed for secondary school students (aged 11-18) and provides a powerful platform to explore and confront the challenging issues of racism and violence. It's rooted in the historic 1965 debate at the Cambridge Union between the iconic civil rights leader James Baldwin and the academic William Buckley – a truly thought-provoking foundation. We've dedicated three years of pro-bono work, alongside students from the University of Northampton, to bring this project to its current, crucial stage.
Now, we're facing a critical deadline (the end of November 2025) and we desperately need to secure funding to compete the creation of the online restorative peace resource and short film for schools. Our vision is to make this impactful resource freely available to schools worldwide from 18th February 2026.
Your generosity can make a real difference. We will arrange a private online/in person launch for all our sponsors to meet the writers, actors and crew. We will also credit all of those that donate on our website. If you want to donate anonymously we will, of course, respect your wishes.
