“The Miracle in Room 555: A Family’s Fight, Faith, and Healing” (UPDATED August 31, 2025)

Your help can bring Pat home!

———-

Update on Pat, Mother of 9 (Aug. 31, 2025)
DONATIONS STILL NEEDED TO BRING HER HOME

Over the past few weeks, so many of you have been faithfully praying for Pat and the Taylor family—and those prayers are being answered in ways that feel nothing short of miraculous.

While on vacation with her family, Pat suddenly became ill and unresponsive and was rushed to the ICU at a hospital in Florida. As doctors searched for answers, she remained in critical condition, and not long after, she suffered a brain bleed—a kind of stroke.

But through it all, the Taylor family clung to hope and faith. Surrounded by constant prayer—from loved ones, friends, and even strangers—Pat’s condition slowly began to change. What has happened since can only be described as a grace-filled turning point. Many believe it is through the power of prayer and God’s mercy that Pat is still with us and continuing to improve.

Today, Pat is at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, the #1-ranked rehab facility in Florida, where she is receiving physical, occupational, speech, and cognitive therapies. Though still weak and needing significant care, she is working hard and showing signs of continued healing. Two of her daughters recently spent Labor Day weekend with her and were amazed at how far she’s come in just two weeks.

Pat remains on a restricted diet while she regains her strength and ability to swallow, and her care team is monitoring her closely. If she continues progressing, the family hopes to bring her home soon. Since she cannot safely fly, they are planning for the best and safest ground transport.

While the journey ahead is still long, there is so much to be grateful for. And above all, there is hope.

The Taylor family is deeply moved by the generosity and compassion they have received. All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward Pat’s extensive medical bills, her continued care, and the cost of safely bringing her home.

Please continue to lift Pat in prayer. Pray for healing without setbacks, for strength to endure the road ahead, and for peace and comfort for her daughters—especially the youngest, who miss their mom dearly. And please keep her husband in your prayers as he faces his own medical challenges.

Your prayers and support are not only helping this family carry the weight of this crisis—they are part of the miracle.

The road ahead will be long, and the medical and travel costs will be enormous—far beyond what the family can manage alone—so every donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference in helping bring Pat home.

ORIGINAL POST:

Pat and Larry have shared 53 years of marriage—a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion to each other, their family, and their Catholic faith. In just a short span of time, this devoted couple has faced life-threatening medical crises that have turned their world upside down.

Larry has fought a fierce battle with sepsis in his leg, enduring multiple surgeries and long hospital stays. While he was still recovering, tragedy struck again—Pat, his beloved wife, was rushed to the ICU in Cape Canaveral, Florida, with sepsis and pneumonia. Her condition was so dire that her family feared they might lose her. For days, doctors searched for answers, uncertain of the cause. Her condition hung in a fragile balance with each passing hour, but by the grace of God, Pat made a remarkable turnaround. In Room 555 of that small hospital, doctors and nurses alike marveled at what appeared to be a miraculous recovery.

However, due to some setbacks, Pat had to be transferred to a new hospital where she remains in the ICU. And, the miracle that began in Room 555 continues as her body strengthens and heals.

Larry and the rest of the family are at home in Pennsylvania. Pat and Larry have nine daughters, five of whom have special needs, with several still living at home. The strain has been unimaginable. Their daughters have been making costly and exhausting trips between Florida and Pennsylvania to care for both parents, all while juggling the responsibilities of home, work, and family life.

The medical bills, travel expenses, and the looming cost of eventually bringing Pat home to a rehabilitation facility near her family are growing by the day. This is a family known for their generosity, their faith, and their deep reluctance to ask for help. But in this moment, they have humbly allowed a friend to share their story and invite others to stand with them.

Jenny, one of Pat and Larry’s daughters, is a beloved member of the Lancaster, PA community—a local Pulse Dance mom, a Lancaster Catholic High School mom, and a cherished family doctor. This family has poured love and care into so many lives; now it is our turn to pour that same love back into theirs.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will help lift the weight of financial worry so Pat and Larry can focus fully on healing and being reunited. All funds raised will be used for medical expenses and the expenses involved with bringing Pat home. Thank you for standing with them in prayer, compassion, and generosity.
