My name is Tyler Nacho and I have been creating large scale projects for our favorite parties for a few years! The projects that I helped write, design, build and perform in include:
Puppet Nursery
I absolutely love making these projects GIGANTIC and FREAKY but I am a freelance artist and each one of these projects requires full time work for 30 days straight to make happen. So getting our basic costs covered so the project doesn’t COST me money is the only way I can continue doing these for YOU!
I love this community so much and I am trying to find a way creating these projects makes sense in my life. If crowdfunding works, I can start showing up to every party and making new art for you. This is my dream!
What We Need & What You Get
Here’s what we need:
Goal 1: $1000 - This covers the basic costs of materials to make puppets, costumes, tech and set decoration. Without this the project will have to be shrunk down considerably.
Goal 2: $3400 - We make a hit song for the project! This also covers each performer's travel costs. We have some incredible performers flying in and I don’t want them to pay out of pocket for all the hard work they are doing.
Goal 3: $5600 - This is money to give performers for performing. I strongly believe that paying artists SOMETHING is important. Showing them that we value their time. My projects ask a lot of my performers and I want to show them that WE care.
Goal 4: $8,000 - BIG PLANS! This is the money that will take this project to OUTER SPACE. Make my wildest dreams possible. Let’s do it BIG!
Total ask: $8,000
The Impact
If you saw my project last year you know it was about intrusive thoughts. I had been battling intrusive thoughts and had a very healing journey making art about it. When people saw the show it opened up a lot of conversations with intrusive thoughts and I got a lot of feedback from people saying they felt like it was “puppet therapy” and they felt affected positively by the experience.
This year I’m trying to address the theme of closure. I find closure to be a very intense topic and something we can all relate to. I hope to use this project as a way to start conversations about closure and help people on their journey to creating their own personal rituals and traditions around closure.
