“And to think, the first thing she saw when her little eyes opened was the face of Jesus." - Unknown

To our friends and family-

Aliyah went into labor Friday, June 28th. It was mild and progressive and Aliyah and John decided it was time to check into Holy Cross Hospital on June 29th to begin the final steps of this perfect pregnancy journey. Upon admission, it was quickly discovered that sweet Ezrah Joy no longer had a heartbeat. Their precious, perfect girl was stillborn on June 30th at 3:19pm. Measuring at 21 inches long and 6 pounds, 2 ounces, she was absolutely perfect. She had mommy’s lips and curly hair and daddy’s beautiful hands and feet. She was the most perfect blend of both her parents.

This loss has been the greatest of their lives. The pain is long and deep and wide. There are moments when it is suffocating. They have kept this story safe in their hearts for the first few days because they needed to hold on to every bit of her. To keep it sacred. To hold onto the preciousness. Family has surrounded them and cared for them. Many friends have asked how to help. The most practical help they can ask for is any financial support you feel led to give. Between the upcoming funeral expenses and the unknown time off of work to grieve, there are real and significant needs. The amount of love they have received has been such a blessing. Please know that they will, in due time, read all messages and when they have the capacity to respond, will do so. They have a clear understanding that so many want to offer kind words and express their support, but for the foreseeable future, please refrain from reaching out to them. They are grieving so deeply and their hearts are to respond to everyone, but their ability to do so is simply not there. Please pray for them often as they wrestle with their grief and the turmoil of their emotions. Your prayers are powerful and so desperately needed. Thank you for loving them well.

May God bless you,

The families of John and Aliyah Miller
