THE MICRO-BUDGET MYSTERY

We're knee-deep in post-production, thank you! It's been a blast making this comedy thing with our talented friends, old and new.

The film is in the can and getting closer to the final edit. We were right on schedule even with dance sequences, original songs, chase scenes, and a large cast in multiple locations. You're not going to believe you can make a film of this scale on this budget.

We need a little more funds to cover costs for film festivals. screenings, publicity, publicist, etc. Plus, that last $3,000 to cover our full production costs for our composer, sound mixer, etc. We're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished on a shoestring and we think you're going to be proud to have been involved.

This full-length film examines a deeply puzzling crime on a shoestring budget.

Welcome to a true-crime investigation where I go on the hunt for a killer and find ... myself. And the killer. Possibly. It's a mystery! A comedy-mystery.

My movie stars me as me: a broke guy trying to break a case. The only way to do that is to crack the micro-budget mystery that is my life in a time of high economic anxiety.

At this point, I may as well solve mysteries. So I've finally decided to solve the biggest of all.

Featuring a stellar cast including Toby Huss (COPSHOP, DICKENSON, HALT & CATCH FIRE), Annie Wood (GOOD LUCK CHUCK, MY SISTER'S KEEPER), Michael Burke (TED BUNDY, THE COLLECTOR, VICE), Mark Fite (SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, CLOWNTOWN CITY LIMITS), Diane Ayala Goldner (FEAST I-II, PROJECT GREENLIGHT) and many more to be announced. I've made fistfuls of low-budget movies, but this will be my crowning achievement. $20,000 is the max budget for the micro-budget deal with SAG. Challenge accepted. Couple that with the fact that I live a micro-budget life, and it's a perfect match. 

My credentials, so you know I'll get this done right: I'm a multi-award-winning writer, producer & director. I've written screenplays for Warner Bros., Pathe Films, Mosaic Media and many others. My movie CRYPTIC won Best Film at the Athens Int. Sci-Fi Film Festival and the Sac. Horror Film Fest. I'm also the writer & star of the cult classic BLUE VENGEANCE and upcoming comedy BREAKING BONE.

A key player to make sure we create something special is the film's PRODUCER, Denise Gaberman. Denise was honored at the 2019 Whitney Biennial for her work in community media. She has worked in independent film and video organizations for over twenty years in NYC, LA and Sydney, Australia. Currently, she runs the Design and Media Arts Academy integrating arts into the high school curriculum in South Central LA.

JOHN GULAGER (DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY) John is an indie filmmaking legend. He's a deeply talented DP and Director with many features under his belt including the FEAST series, PIRANHA (2012), and the upcoming SEVEN CEMETERIES.

JESS CORNELIUS (SCORE & SONGS) Jess has released four critically acclaimed

albums under the moniker Teeth & Tongue. Her solo album Distance was recently

released to critical praise.

Your donations will go towards:

PRODUCTION: Cast and crew, props, catering, etc. I've made many films, so I know where not to spend. All my locations are free, and most of my equipment will be loaned. 

POST-PRODUCTION: Composer, Editing, sound mixing,

FILM FESTIVALS: Festival entry fees, deliverables.

If I raise above my goal by some good fortune, the extra money will be used for promotion, a Sales Agent, screenings, etc. It will make the bloody struggle ahead much less bloody. 

 

Any donation of up to $25 will receive a thank you in the credits plus a link to the film when it's done.

$50 gets the above plus an invite for you and a guest to the first premiere screenings in Los Angeles and NYC in theaters I'll be booking.

$100 gets all the above plus a poster for the film.

$250 gets all the above plus a Micro-Budget Mystery crew hat.

$500 gets all the above plus an immediate digital copy of the script with a personalized thank you.

$750 gets all the above plus a personalized video thank you from me as all three characters I'm playing. 

$1,000 gets all the above plus an Associate Producer credit that will also be on IMDB (Internet Movie Database).

$2,500 gets all the above plus an Executive Producer credit that will also be on IMDB.

$5,000 gets all the above plus at least one line in the film. You'll come off cool, funny, and charismatic, I promise. I have a few ideas.

$10,000 gets all the above, plus my impressed confusion about your ability to donate that amount.
