On July 2, 2026, Michaela Waldrop’s life was tragically taken in a motorcycle accident in Gorham, New Hampshire. She was only 29 years old.
Michaela had recently earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Boston College and was passionate about serving underserved individuals and families. She believed every person deserved compassion, dignity, and hope. Helping others wasn’t simply her profession—it was who she was.
Michaela was the beloved and only child of Kris Waldrop, a dedicated nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for many years. Their bond was extraordinary. They weren’t just mother and daughter—they were best friends. Kris’s greatest joy was watching Michaela become the remarkable, kind, and compassionate woman she was.
To honor Michaela’s life and the values she lived every day, we are establishing The Michaela Waldrop Legacy Fund. Working with an attorney, we are creating a permanent charitable fund that will support underserved individuals and families—the very people Michaela devoted her life to serving. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will provide the initial endowment to launch the Legacy Fund. Although nothing can ever replace Michaela, together we can ensure that her compassion continues to change lives for years to come.
If you are able, please consider making a donation of any amount. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign and keeping Kris and all who loved Michaela in your thoughts and prayers would mean the world.
