The Michael Shanes and Tucker Budsies Pals Fund

Michael Shanes is an inspiring example of how to handle a cancer diagnosis. A motorsports logistics professional with a passion for Hot Wheels, Corvettes, and Jensen-Healeys, Michael received his diagnosis in February of 2023. He immediately branded himself with "I'm Not Done" and pushes through with a commitment to self-care built upon three pillars: his care team, his car, and Tucker. Tucker is a Budsie—a custom-crafted, handmade plushie that was made to look just like Michael's Bitmoji. Tucker has been central to Michael's self-care as part of his Comfort Therapy care regimen.

Michael and Tucker visit patients of all ages at hospitals to show that mindset means everything - and that having a Budsie can go a long way to bring normalcy and optimism to any diagnosis.

The Michael and Tucker Shanes Budsies Pals Fund is created to pre-pay Budsies for any patient looking for a soft, cuddly little one to help them through the tough times along the cancer journey.

Your donation in any amount will go to cover the costs of a Budsie for any patient requesting one. The fund remains open until 12:00 noon EDT Wednesday, April 30th, 2025.
