The Medical Mystery of an Amazing Man
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Creel. Bob Alexander is my step father...but he is so much more! He is a IHeart radio personality in Port Charlotte Sea View 104.9 and WCCF 100.9, the best ring announcer for amateur and professional boxing, a husband, father, grandfather, friend, Vice President in the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame, a 2010 Inductee into the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame....and now a medical mystery.
In October of 2018, this amazing man met my mom and came into our lives. We have been blessed beyond measure!
When they married in 2019, he was 220 lbs at this point...looking super healthy and with a zest for life!
This last year is when the mystery took off! Bob started having a lot of pain in his hips and back in February and he was told it was "spasms". It has progressively gotten worse since then.
The weight loss was drastic starting in June and has not stopped since. Just so you have an idea, in the beginning of the year he weighed 165 and now is done to a merely 125 lbs at 6 feet tall. He sought out medical care and has had numerous scans done. They have found arthritis but cannot give any other answers.
My mom brought him to Tampa to see other doctors to chase answers and still have not received any reasons for why he is in so much pain and losing weight this rapidly.
He had a facet joint injection with fluoroscopy and dye under sedation. The doctors were hopeful that this would assist in the pain, however he received no relief.
Bob doesn't have an appetite and is now experiencing swallowing issues, and as of lately his knees are beginning to give out on him.
During this time, he has been unable to work as a ring announcer due to the pain, and they were affected by the recent Hurricane, with quite a bit of damage to their home.
Even with medical insurance this has been a huge incurred expense as the doctors constantly is pretty expensive!
Bob is now going to head to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to try to undergo more studies and procedures to try to develop a diagnosis!
We need your help! Please pray, donate, share and give Bob some words of encouragement during this time of need. Bob is an amazing man that always gives to others selflessly and he deserves for all of us to take him under our wing now! The donations will be used for his travel, bills while unable to work, lodging, copays, deductibles, and any other supplies that are needed during this trying time. Thank you!
