On Friday, July 22, our dear friend Amanda Meck suddenly collapsed from what doctors have determined to be a subarachnoid hemorrhage (brain bleed). She was rushed to a local hospital where surgeons operated on her brain to determine what was causing the bleeding underneath her skull. Once Amanda was stable, she was transferred to a hospital in Philadelphia to undergo further surgeries & remain in their ICU unit for continued observation. The next few weeks are critical for her progress as it is the peak time when complications can arise.
Amanda's husband, Brandon, travels to Philly daily to spend time with his wife and speak with the numerous doctors, nurses and neuro specialists looking after her. Their son Connor remains at home under the watchful eye of family members but is desperate to see his mother once visitors are allowed.
I've worked with Amanda for nearly 15 years and have witnessed her growth, strength and determination as a colleague. She interacts with co-workers globally and has been a driving force in our success since the pandemic due to her unstoppable drive and commanding leadership in our office & warehouse. Our workplace is a bit different than others - we form bonds akin to families and live through the good and bad times together but never turn our backs when our family is in trouble. Instead, we become stronger & pull together with more strength than before to help those that need our support.
This gofundme is set up to help their family offset some of the costs associated with travel, hotels, hospital bills & post-release therapy as they have a long road to recovery ahead of them. Some of Amanda's friends and colleagues around the world may not know how they can help. This is the solution. I know Brandon and Connor are grateful for the outreach that many have already shown. Thank you for your time reading this & please consider donating to help the Meck family.
Sincerely,
Justin Weaver
