Anorexia Treatment - costs insurance won’t cover
It’s with an anxious and blessed heart that I tell you all that I’m going back to eating disorder treatment. Instead of being upset with God, past programs, or our body-focused society, that I’m still struggling, I’m trying to have a sense of gratitude. This gratitude comes from a heart of knowing that I will be receiving treatment from a well-trained team of doctors, therapists, and dietitians. I will be attending Meadows Ranch, in Phoenix Arizona. This is an all women eating disorder center, where I will receiving treatment for my severe diagnosis of anorexia. This treatment center is super cool because they treat a person in a wholistic way. Through a dual diagnosis approach, I will be receiving care for depression, as well as other co-occuring diagnoses. Unfortunately there are no programs in MN that do just that! (I saw that as someone who has been to almost every program). Through brain therapy, equine (horse) therapy, and culinary therapy, I’m excited to finally kick my eating disorder in the butt! I deserve a life without my eating disorder!
It is a total God thing that I have found this program. Last week, I was feeling very hopeless, as no program, here in MN, will support me in my depression and PTSD as well. My mom decided to call the insurance company one more time to see if I could do another program, but out of state. That is when we learned about Meadow’s Ranch. That evening, my mom and I had tears in our eyes - of gratitude - as we realized this was a total God thing. This week, I’ve been having visions of the Lord’s scripture, over my life. I know that this is what I need to do.
I’m asking for donations because there are different levels of care at this program, and some are not fully covered by insurance. I’m also looking for support in needing money for my airfare going both directions, as well as expenses that arise that are not covered by insurance. Any money raised that is not used in Arizona will be used 100% for my ongoing treatment when I return home.
