The McGuire Programme (Alternative Stuttering Therapy)

Hi my names Finn,
I am 13 and live in Essex with my Mummy.
I was diagnosed with right sided hemiplegic cerebral palsy after complications while I was being born;
This means a quarter of my brain no longer works.
I have paralysis all down my right side, sometimes have seizures, can only walk short distances and have painful bowel function.
Because my muscles cramp after a short time when I walk, the pain means that I have to use a wheelchair to get about.
When I learnt to talk I developed a stammer and was diagnosed with Tourette’s, which means sometimes I have twitches and movements I can’t control.
A bit about me…
- I have a very optimistic and sunny nature.
- a wicked sense of humour. I always see the fun in life and live to play pranks .
- I am passionate about reptiles (I have a leopard geko called Neo who I love very much)
- I am very very sensitive, kind and caring.
- I love my Mummy, we are the dream team I say .
- I am very sociable and love to play fight, build Lego, play computer games and watch cartoons.
My biggest worry at the moment is my bad stammer as I struggle to communicate.
My Mum has found a brilliant therapy course for this called ‘The McGuire project’ which could cure my stammer. This would be life changing for me.
I’ve just starting thinking about girls all the time, I would like a girlfriend and worry that this will put girls off.
I would be eternally grateful if this could happen.
lots of love and big hugs
