So let me tell you a little about Liam McEvoy and the McEvoy Family.

Liam is an amazing funny, kind, intelligent young person.

These are Liam's mothers own words on October 15, 2020.

I’ve never been hit, but the last two days I feel like I’ve been sucker-punched, repeatedly. We received some results from Liam’s most recent MRI on Tuesday. Apparently the spine has collapsed part of his lower right lung (punch) and x-rays and immediate follow up were needed. On Wednesday Liam and I headed to Hamilton to get a chest x-ray and a quick meeting with the surgeon at his office. The doctor was visibly distraught (and when the doctor is distraught it makes it difficult for the mama to stay calm). The spine was now presenting at about an 80 degree curve (punch). Better x-rays were needed to get a clearer picture. So today Liam and I headed back to Hamilton to McMaster for a new x-ray and a meeting with the surgeon at the clinic there. Again he looked stricken and was almost unable to look us in the face. The spine was not at the 80 degrees as he thought, but closer to 95 (punch). More x-rays were needed. So back down the hall we went for them to take some more pics and then back to see the surgeon one more time. We’ve known surgery was coming as soon as was possible, but now it’s critical. They had been hoping to do a growing rod system right now so that Liam’s spine would not need to be fused, but that option is no longer a possibility. They will have to do a conventional spinal surgery and fuse the metal rods to parts of the spine, which will impede his growth (punch). They are facing an impossible situation as far as scheduling goes. They will have to bump someone either in Hamilton or Toronto to make this happen, which just feels terrible. So, there it is. We will wait to get word and as we wait we will hold each other close and rest in God’s embrace.

Liam's surgery is scheduled for Dec. 17, 2020, he will likely be in McMaster
Hospital for 3 weeks. This surgery is likely to take up to 20 hours. He will be the    hospital for Christmas, New Years and most likely his birthday in early January.
The family has quietly been absorbing the cost of the many trips to Hamilton and   loss of wages to make these trips, however this three week hospital stay over          Christmas will also take a toll on the other siblings - two beautiful sisters who will see their family stretched financially and emotional over this Christmas season..    then add covid to the mix and anyone should be able to see how challenging this is going to be for the McEvoy Family.

It is my wish that we are able to relieve the financial burden from this most wonderful family.
