Mike and Susan McDuffie returned home from church last Sunday to find their home on fire.   Although much of the outside of the home is intact, the inside will have to be completely gutted and all belongings were lost due to smoke and water damage.  Mike and Susan are pillars in our community who never hesitate to love and serve others.  I wonder how many of you have been personally touched by these two or know someone who has?  Have you had a meal at their house?  Have your children been welcomed into their home? Have they provided you a place to sleep or given you some clothes?  Have they spoken a word of encouragement when you needed it or have they given you a job when you were desperate?  Have they helped give you a wedding or baby shower?  Have they poured into your life spiritually as they showed the love of Christ?  I could go on and on.  These two and their family have served our community by providing for schools, churches, those who were homeless, those who fled a hurricane, and those who were desperate for hope.  I pray that during this time, we can all truly give back a little something that will help on their journey to rebuilding their home.  We have a starting goal of $10,000 but we would like to far exceed that goal.  We know that God is in total control and that this will display His glory.  It says in Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
